This statue is based on the sculpture known as [The Rape of Polyxena It is a marble statue in the Loggia*di*Lanzi (Cloister of Lanzi) in Piazza della Signoria, Italy, sculpted by Piofedi in 1868, and placed alongside several Renaissance sculptures. This scene shows the Greek hero Achilles kidnapping Polyxenae, the daughter of the king of Troy. |
