The chopsticks are made of 100% natural lacquer and finished with a "suri-urushi" (wiped lacquer) technique. Kezuri chopsticks can be re-coated as many times as you like without charge, so you can use them for a long time. Each pair of Hyozaemon's Kezuri chopsticks is hand-cut by our craftsmen for the ultimate in usability and ease of use. They are one of Hyozaemon's signature products and have been loved for many years because of the way they fit perfectly in any hand. Please enjoy the random unevenness and fit that only a skilled craftsman can create. Our Kezuri chopsticks are made of 100% natural lacquer and finished with suri-urushi (wiped lacquer). This technique is characterized by the repeated application and wiping off of lacquer, gradually building up the lacquer layer by layer to bring out the wood and the texture of the material. The fine particles of the lacquer itself give the chopsticks a rough texture. The chopstick tips are square, making it easy to pick up food. The shape of the chopsticks makes them both easy to hold and easy to pick up. The gold on the tops of the chopsticks is subtle, but not too showy. They are also ideal as gifts.
