| In mid-19th century New York City, fire escapes were required to be installed on the exterior walls of houses. The iron balconies and steps that still exist today are massive and resistant to fire. We have faithfully reproduced that fire escape as an interior wall surface. Just like an actual balcony, it is a perfect match for plants! Items that would otherwise slip through the mesh, such as pens and tools, can be neatly stored by using empty bottles. |
