Description
*Ajurak design steeped in tradition Ajrakh cloth is said to trace its roots back more than 4000 years. It has been made from Sindh, Pakistan to Kutch, India. There are traces of ajrakh cloth on the famous stone statues of priest-kings excavated in the Indus city of Mohenjo-daro (2500 B.C. to 1800 B.C.). The shawl over the shoulders of the statue was carved with motifs unique to ajrakh. The designs include radial patterns centering on a star and motifs of nature, such as plants, trees, and waves. Influenced by Islamic art, no people or animals are depicted. The geometric patterns are repeated, and the designs are reminiscent of Islamic architectural ornamentation. We hope you will also read the report of our Tirakita buying team's actual visit to the production area of Ajrakh cloth. *Oriental pattern of wood blocks This is a very oriental coaster using wood block stamps. It is very full of Indian tradition. For more information about wood block stamping, please visit the URL below to see the work process, including the elaborate method of making the stamps. Unlike the complete products we usually take for granted in our daily lives, these products have the unique atmosphere and warmth of handmade products. *This product is a set of 4 pieces. When you purchase one of these products, you will receive four coasters. We highly recommend these coasters, which are full of Indian tradition and simplicity. *Because they are handmade, colors and patterns are assorted. The coasters are delivered in an assortment of slightly different colors and patterns. All of them are made with wood block prints, so you can use them as tableware with a sense of unity despite the different patterns. *The size of the tableware is large enough to be used with either a glass or a mug. It will make your usual tea time even more enjoyable! Also, since each piece is handmade, there may be slight differences in color, size, thickness, and other details. |
