■水牛の角
ベトナムは食器なども含めて水牛の角を活用するので有名なお国柄です。水牛の角は油に浸してから加工することによっていろいろな形に変形しますので、食器になったり、楽器になったり、生物由来のプラスチックみたいな感覚で活用されています。
水牛は、まず食肉用の水牛として育て、肉にするときに同時に角も取り、色々なものに活用するのだとか。水牛の体全部をまるごと余さず利用します。
■日本の法螺貝みたい
この水牛角のホーンは日本の法螺貝みたいなみたいな方法で吹くホーン。水牛の角の片側を吹きやすい様にちょっと整形しただけのシンプルな楽器です。
鳴らし方も単純で、ホーンの手前でくちびるを振動させる様にして音を出します。最初はちょっと難しいですが、慣れれば大きな音が「ブオオオ！！」って出る様になりますよ！
