この楽器はソックニャック（Soc nhac）と呼ばれるベトナムの民族楽器。カスタネットにバネ鈴が付いたエキゾチックな形状が特徴的です。
主に用いられるのは祝祭のお神輿行列の場面。ベトナムの昔ながらのお祭りでは赤で華やかに飾られたお神輿（駕籠）が行列の主役となるのですが、それを盛り上げるためにこのパーカッションが用いられます。一風変わったパーカッションとして楽器コレクションの一つに加えるのも楽しいですね。
