最近よく耳にするようになってきた
「ブッシュクラフト」という言葉。
僕は自然の中でプリミティブな過ごし方をするための
スキルだと理解している。
つまり、ブッシュクラフトは、
もっともシンプルな方法で
自然の中に身をおいて自然や自分と対峙する
楽しみ方だと思う。
人間が抗うことができない自然の力に
コテンパンにされたり、
失敗を重ねることで編み出した自分の技は、
時に教本よりも自然と一番いい折り合いを
つける方法だったりする。
相手が変幻自在で一瞬たりとも同じ状況がない
自然だけに、これほどスリリングで
面白い遊びはないだろう。
さてそんなブッシュクラフトだが、言葉は英語だけど
その発祥は1カ国に限られることではない。
僕が数十年間かけて少しずつ学んできた技術は、
熊撃ち猟師をしている師匠や、アイヌの文化、
過去に世界一周の旅で出会った人や文化、技術、
山登りやクライミングなどの技術、
そしてそれらを自分なりに咀嚼した結果のものだ。
つまり世界中でその土地の自然にあった
さまざまな方法やジャンルによって同じゴールでも
多岐にわたるアプローチ方法があり、
常に進化し続けているものでもある。
ブッシュクラフトにこれが絶対正解!というものはない。
常に自然環境に合わせてベストな方法は変わってくる。
本書はブッシュクラフトの入り口をわかりやすく、
かつ実践しやすいように紹介させてもらいました。
当然もっともっと凄い技術や知識はたくさんあります。
オートキャンプに一部取り入れたり、
