As part of our efforts toward sustainable manufacturing, we have created upcycled products using "waste cloth" that used to be thrown away, We have created upcycled products by utilizing "waste cloth" that used to be thrown away. In the Tohoku region, where cloth has long been considered valuable due to the cold climate, daily clothes and bedding are not thrown away when they get tired, but are instead ripped into thin strips, made into fibers, and woven back into fabrics for reuse. [Sakiori is a unique technique that has developed and been handed down in the culture of "use it up". BAN INOUE's "SAKIORI" series is made by cutting the cloth that is inevitably left over in the process of making mosquito net daily wear into thread and weaving it carefully step by step over a long period of time. When viewed up close, the stitch-like textile is interesting and has a warmth that can only be achieved by handwork. Using Sakiori fabric for the body, we have created a series that is easy to use in everyday life. The lid is made of cowhide and the shoulder strap is made of hemp tape. The length of the shoulder strap is adjustable. There is also a pocket on the back.
