| Incense burner for *puja This is an incense burner for burning resin incense, which is almost unknown in Japan. Resin incense is a gum-like resin that is placed on top of lit charcoal, which melts and burns, releasing a large amount of smoke and a strong aroma. It is used on a daily basis in the Arab world, where people like strong scents, and of course in India as well. The advantage of this resin incense is that it does not mix with the burning smell of roasting bamboo. If you like Indian stick incense, you may know that they all smell pretty much like incense sticks. This is because incense is applied to a bamboo stick and burned with the stick. That is the smell of the bamboo strips. Resin incense melts and burns directly on the charcoal, so it doesn't smell like anything else that has been burned. Resin incense can of course be enjoyed in a small ceramic dish, but I think it is better to use an atmospheric incense burner like this one to create the right atmosphere. *Sheesha charcoal is convenient for use with this type of incense. Charcoal for shisha, which is sold separately in our store, is convenient for charcoal. The charcoal is divided into smaller sizes or can be detached, and because of the low smoke and odor for shisha, it is suitable for burning resin incense and the like. List of Charcoals Recommended for Resin Incense It is good for burning resin incense as well as sage, etc. If it is to be placed on the floor, it could be used for corn incense, etc., as long as it is not too tall. |

こちらは日本ではほとんど知られていない、樹脂香を焚くためのお香たてです。樹脂香とは、ガムみたいな樹脂になっているお香を火が付いた炭の上に乗せ、溶けて燃えて過程で、大量の煙と強い香りを放つものです。
強い香りが好きなアラブ圏で日常的に使用されていて、もちろんインドでも使用されています。この樹脂香のメリットはタケを焼いたような焦げ臭い匂いが混じらないこと。
インドのスティック香が好きな人は判るかと思いますが、結構どれも似た線香の香りがしますよね。それは竹ひごにお香を塗りつけて、竹ひごごと燃やしているからなのです。あれは竹ひごの匂いなんです。樹脂香は直接炭の上で溶けて燃えますので、その様な余計なものが燃えた匂いが一切しません。
樹脂香を使用するときは、もちろん陶器の小さなお皿でも楽しめますが、この様な雰囲気のある香炉を使うとより雰囲気が出て良いと思います。
■炭にはシーシャ用の物が便利です
炭には、当店で別売りしている、シーシャ用のチャコールが便利です。炭のサイズも小さく分けられていたり、切り離せるようになっている上、シーシャのために煙や匂いが少ないので、樹脂香などを焚くのに適しています。
樹脂香におすすめのチャコール一覧
樹脂香だけでなく、セージなどを焚くのにも良いですね。置いて使うのであれば、背が高くなければコーン香などにも使えそうです。
