Description
| Junko Okamoto Buelo Vallejo is a leading figure in contemporary Spanish theater. He fought in the civil war in support of the Republic, but Franco's side ended up winning. The dictatorship continued after the war, and Vallejo used his experience of resistance to censorship and violence by state authorities in his plays. His work is not confined to the narrow confines of the period and the nation, but tells the story of a public history of great oppressive power, a universal history of the underdog. Along with Lorca, his works have captured the hearts of the public and won several literary prizes. This is the first full-scale introduction of his work in Japan. |
