Description
| The M43 jacket was designed to be used in the U.S. military when the mobilization of the U.S. Army was in full swing, and the Supply Division was instructed to simplify the M41 jacket to reduce production costs, which had been used until then. Therefore, waist straps and action pleats were eliminated and tube sleeves were adopted. The chest pockets, which were unpopular with soldiers for being too small, were enlarged, and the length of the jacket was extended so that it could be worn not only for work and training but also as a combat uniform. The fabric color was also changed from OD.3 (sage green) to OD.6 (olive). Like the jacket, the M43 HBT pants were also greatly simplified and improved for productivity and cost reduction. The front slash pocket, watch pocket, and rear pockets of the M41 were eliminated, and large cargo pockets were installed on the sides instead.
