本書の依頼をお受けした時、
私は自身がたどって来た水彩画体験の来し方を
漠然と思い浮かべました。
そこで気づいたのは、
光と色をどうつかまえたらよいかという問題意識が、
いつも私の中にあり続けていたことでした。
光と色の理解が水彩画を描く上で重要な課題だと、
改めて認識することになりました。
私は自分が学び試してきた様々な考え方や方法、
それらはおおむね無秩序でバラバラな状態であったのを
改めて整理して体系的に組み立て直す、
