浮世絵の重要なジャンルに麗しい女性を描く
「美人画」があります。
画中の女性たちの多くがまとうのは、
主に現在の着物の原型となった「小袖」。
もちろん当時流行のデザインです。
浮世絵が創生され隆盛をみた江戸時代は、
日本の服飾文化も大きく花開いた時代でしたから、
浮世絵にはあらゆる色や模様の小袖が男女を問わず
愛されていた様子が描かれました。
