Description
| Satoshi Kako, who passed away in 2018, left behind a manuscript of some 240 small stories, which he personally edited and categorized into different types of stories. These are [animal stories], [Japanese folktales], [stories from everyday life], and [stories from around the world]. He edited the stories that had not yet been published in books, or that had appeared in magazines or as picture storyboards, by altering and illustrating them until just before he passed away. Each volume is full of interesting stories for children from young children who have begun to read to elementary school age children, and can be read from any part of the story. Volume 1 is [Animal Story [No.1]], one of the three volumes. It starts with a story about a crow, Kanta-kun, growing up [Omusubi Yama no Karasu-chan], followed by [Kotteri Choco Kashi Jiken] in which Arinko and his friends find a big candy in a temple, [Osumashi Nuru-chan Ganbari Nura-chan], a story about a slug based on a large picture-story show first drawn in 1953, and [Osumashi Nuru-chan Ganbari Nura-chan], a story about a boy who loses his parents. The eight pigs who have lost their parents start an ice cream shop with the help of kind adults, and it becomes a thriving business.
