| Isekatagami Lamp - KATAGAMI Series The traditional techniques of the past have become "healing light" from beyond the millennium, and reach the present day. Ise-katagami" originated in Ise, Mie Prefecture (present-day Suzuka City). It is said to have originated in the Muromachi period (1333-1573), and has long been used to dye kimono fabrics with ancient Japanese patterns and designs. This paper lantern was developed to transmit the traditional craft* Isekatagami inherited from the Muromachi period in a different form. The Ise-katagami used for the paper lantern (traditional craftsman: Isao Uchida) is a Japanese art asset that has long been used to dye ancient Japanese patterns and designs on kimono fabrics. The frame is made of lacquer, which is scratch-resistant and colorfast. You can enjoy [Japanese space] as a room for hospitality while feeling Japanese tradition as a light!
