| Isekatagami Lamp - KATAGAMI Series The traditional techniques of the past have become "healing light" from beyond the millennium, and reach the present day. This is an andon (paper lantern) developed to transmit the traditional craft* of Isekatagami, which has been handed down since the Muromachi period (1333-1573), in a different form. The Isekatagami used for the paper lantern (traditional craftsman: Isao Uchida) is a Japanese art asset that has long been used to dye ancient Japanese patterns and designs on kimono fabric. The frame is made of lacquer, which is scratch-resistant and colorfast. You can enjoy [Japanese space] as a room for hospitality while feeling Japanese tradition as a light. Traditional craftsman (stencil carver) Isao Uchida He specializes in tsukibori, a technique of carving delicate patterns, and his trademark is the graceful curves that he creates with his sensitivity. He is the most skilled katagarishi of his generation.
