[A record of a trip to British gardens that began with the words, "I'm going to look for a green finger. The photographer Yasutomo Ebisu and the editor*writer Rumiko Suzuki visited a number of English gardens with the magazine [ku:nel]. The journey began with Suzuki's words, "I'm going to look for 'green fingers'. nbsp;The gardeners who transformed the formal English-style gardens into gardens that were more in tune with nature, and the English women who elevated them to the level of art. The "green fingers" of the gardeners who understood and inherited their ideas. [Suzuki was struck by the gardens that "continue to change without changing," and spent several years working with Ebisu to create this series. Beauty The out-of-this-world garden, full of beauty and vitality, continues to live on. Green fingers: Those who make beautiful flowers bloom and nurture plants well are praised as having been given "green fingers" by God. In England, it is said to be the most envied talent of all. Yasutomo Ebisu Photographer. Born in Nagasaki Prefecture. He began taking photographs under the influence of his grandfather and father, who ran a photo studio. After graduating from Nihon University College of Art, Department of Photography, he became an independent photographer. He shoots editorial and advertising visuals for fashion magazines, and creates portraits taken while traveling abroad. He has worked on many artists' collections, including Katsuya Kamo's [KAMO HEAD] (KAMO HEAD), and will hold a joint exhibition [photography & us] (OFS Gallery) in 2021. His own collection of works includes [BONES], a collection of animal bones collected by editor Lloyd*Kahn. Rumiko Suzuki Editor and writer. She joined Magazine House in 1986 and was assigned to the editorial department of "Olive". After returning to Japan, she became a freelance editor and writer. In 2014, she participated in the launch of [ku:nel] (Magazine House), where she reported and wrote for 79 issues until 2015. He has written many books, including [Smile Food] and [Sumikko in Paris] (both for Magazine House), [O KU Naito Rei|What Kind of Place Was the Ground] (HeHe), and [Yoko Arimoto's Cooking Basics] (Gentosha). Her translated books include [Espresso] (Flex*Farm), etc. She died on May 16, 2018. |
