Description
| I came from Hawaii with my passport. The passport has the name, date of birth, and the island of birth written on it. It also shows what the animal has to do with Hawaii, so please enjoy this trivia! The Hawaiian monk seal is an endemic species found only in Hawaii and is a seal that lives in warm waters. It is listed as an endangered species, with only about 1,400 individuals. They are called ilioholokai (sea-faring dogs) in Hawaiian. They are not easily seen in the wild, but you can find them at the aquarium just east of Waikiki Beach. |
