The base car is a 1974 Dodge Monaco 440, which was used as a police car in the state of New York at the time. In the movie, it appeared as the favorite car of the Blues Brothers including Jake and Elwood. The [Bluesmobile] was auctioned off by the police and looks like an on... The car chases in shopping malls, on highways, and in the city of Chicago are comedic, though, The crash scenes are also terrific, and the getaway is spectacular.
