Description
| Aritayaki teardrop vases in smaller, traditional shapes. A set of dried flowers, just right for each shape, makes a perfect gift item. [Tear Jars" were used by women in ancient Rome to hold the tears of their wives as they thought of their husbands who were going off to war. It was also a vessel to catch tears of joy. This lovely shape was inspired by the pots fired in Arita during the early Imari period in the 160s. Although small, this pot has a strong presence, and even flowers picked in the field as a single flower vase would be a wonderful addition to your daily life. It is made by a molding method called "haideiikomi," which is said to be the most labor-intensive of all Arita-yaki molding methods. *Comes in a design box. *Place of production: Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture ...
