| This basket bag is a traditional handicraft of Tuganan village in Bali, Indonesia. Skilled craftsmen carefully weave ata, a plant in the fern family, into these bags. Because of the many processes involved, it takes more than one month to make one bag. Because of this, they are very durable and are said to last a lifetime if used carefully. This oval-shaped ata basket bag is accented with coconut buttons. The opening is slightly wide, making it easy to put things in and out. The handle is made of cowhide, which is comfortable to hold in the hand. We recommend wearing it with a yukata (light cotton kimono) or for a short outing. |
