Description
This basket bag is a traditional handicraft of Tuganan village in Bali, Indonesia. Skilled craftsmen carefully weave ata, a plant in the fern family, into these bags. Because of the many processes involved, it takes more than one month to make one bag. Because of this, they are very durable and are said to last a lifetime if used carefully. This is a mini-sized basket bag with a lid. Although it has a lid, it is properly lined with an inner fabric. The handle is made of cowhide, which is comfortable to hold in the hand. It is recommended for a short outing or to match with yukata (light cotton kimono). |

The product is fumigated with coconut shells to protect it from insects. It has a distinctive smell, which will fade away with use. It will gradually fade away with use. To clean, wipe dry with a soft cloth. If stains are noticeable, wash in cold water with a mild detergent and dry in the shade. The patterns of the inner cloth are assorted, but they are all batik patterns with subdued colors that go well with ata. |
