Description
| 70cm size furoshiki. We have created a new cotton furoshiki with the popular chidori (plover) design, which is also available as a chirimen furoshiki. The staggered birds have been used as a symbol of congratulations since ancient times, such as when combined with a wave motif to wish for overcoming difficulties, or when two staggered birds are placed side by side to wish for conjugal bliss. By connecting such staggered birds without interruption, I dyed the entire pattern with the hope that the celebrations will continue for a long time. In a wooden Gassho-zukuri factory that has been in Kyoto for 110 years, craftsmen continue to dye each furoshiki carefully, one by one, using the traditional technique of hand-dyeing.
