Description
| This furoshiki is approximately 90 cm in size. Hyotan has many seeds, which means to wish for the prosperity of offspring and fertility. The gourd's vines are also a symbol of prosperous business because of their ability to entangle with things. (Gourds belong to the vine family.) It is rare to find a pattern with so many meanings, and this pattern has been popular as a lucky charm for a long time. The design is a modern arrangement of traditional patterns, and the colors range from calm to bright and fresh. To accentuate the wrapping, colored pieces are scattered throughout the gourd pattern. The gold prints are made by Hori Kinpaku Co. In a wooden Gassho-zukuri factory that has been in Kyoto for 110 years, craftsmen continue to dye each furoshiki carefully, one by one, using the traditional technique of hand-dyeing.
