This piece is decorated with alternating patterns of flowers and grasses, color-painted cloud patterns, pine, bamboo, and plum in a compartmentalized pattern called a "split pattern" in a brocade window-painting style. The dyed pattern is called a ruyitou pattern. The head of the ruyibo held by the priest is in the shape of a reishi mushroom, which is said to bring long life if eaten, and is therefore considered a sign of good fortune.
