タントラとは、ヒンドゥー教において神妃における女性的な力の概念シャクティの教義を解く様々な聖典の通称です。タントリズムとも言われています。こちらの像はそんなタントリズムを現したものです。
■職人による手彫り模様
こちらの像はネパールの職人が一点づつ丁寧に手彫りした特別仕様。曲線の多い像に模様を描いていくのは本当に大変手間のかかる作業ですが、細かい線の一本一本まで丁寧に描かれています。
彫られている柄は、チベットの縁起が良いものを表した吉祥文様である宝傘、金魚、宝瓶、蓮、白法螺貝、吉祥結、勝幢、法輪のどれかになります。
