| *Made of heavy copper This is a Nepalese worship object made of high-quality copper and shaped with a hammer into a unique shape. It is called [arga arga/argha/argauto], and yogurt is poured into this container, exposed to the sun, and then offered to the deity. The copper is thicker than the common worship utensils often seen in India, and is heavier and more solid to the touch than it looks (I could not bend it by hand). In Nepal, it is used as a worship object, but it is also wonderful when used as an oil lamp or a small container. It is a wonderful item that is perfect for evoking an exotic scene. |

良質な銅を贅沢に用いて独特な形に槌で整形した、ネパールの礼拝用品です。「アルガArga/Argha/Argauto」と呼ばれており、この容器にヨーグルトを注ぎ太陽に当て、そののち神像に捧げるのだと言います。
インドでよく見られる庶民的な礼拝用品に比べて銅に厚みがあり、見た目以上の重みとしっかりした手触りがあります（手力では曲げることができませんでした）。
ネパールでは礼拝用品として使われますが、オイルランプや小物入れとして用いても素敵ですね。異国の情景を思い浮かべるのにぴったりの素敵なアイテムです。
