Description
"This is the third book in the series following [Blue Light] (2006) and [NEW TEXT] (2013), and is the culmination of a series of portraits of high school students from all over Japan that photographer Kei Ono has continued since 2002. [In response to contacts from high school students who wished to preserve themselves in photographs, Ono went to all parts of Japan to take photographs, regardless of the region, and listened to their motivations and desired locations in advance. The series of photographs, which had continued uninterrupted for more than 20 years, was interrupted by the pandemic of the new coronavirus, but the photographers found new meaning in photographing high school students who had experienced the coronavirus disaster, and concentrated their efforts during the five-month period after the self-restraint ended in 2022, thus completing the series. This book includes works from December 2013, after the previous book, to the summer of 2022, when he photographed high school students who had experienced the Corona disaster. This book is a record of the times that goes beyond portraiture." |
