観音開きのアミターバ - 阿弥陀如来像です。観音開きの扉を開くと、丁度祭壇のようになっており、とてもありがたい気持ちになってきます。大きさも高さ20cmと立派なサイズ、ずっしりとした重量感と黒色に鈍く光る色彩が相まって、どこからどう見ても、お値段以上です。
アミターバとは
梵名の「アミターバ」は「無限の光をもつもの」、「アミターユス」は「無限の寿命をもつもの」の意味で、これを漢訳して・無量光仏、無量寿仏ともいう。無明の現世をあまねく照らす光の仏にして、空間と時間の制約を受けない仏であることをしめす。西方にある極楽浄土という仏国土（浄土）を持つ（東方は薬師如来）。(参考：wikipedia)
