インド（ヒンドゥ教）では、家の入り口から悪いものが入って来ないように、「魔よけの飾り」を吊り下げます。
唐辛子・レモン・唐辛子の順に糸で通して家の入り口に吊り下げます。
もちろん、現地では本物の唐辛子とレモンを使って作るので、1週間に1度、毎週土曜日に交換のお手入れをするのだとか。
