| *Long length of cloth at a reasonable price. This is a long piece of cloth that is sent in a bundled length as shown in the product name. In addition to its generous length, it is also wide enough to be used for a variety of purposes. *Ajrakh design cultivated by tradition Ajrakh cloth is said to trace its roots back more than 4,000 years. It has been made from Sindh, Pakistan to Kutch, India. Traces of ajrakh cloth can be seen on the famous stone statues of priest-kings excavated in the Indus city of Mohenjo-daro (2500 B.C. to 1800 B.C.). The shawl over the shoulders of the statue was carved with motifs unique to ajrakh. The designs include a star-centered radial pattern and nature motifs such as plants, trees, and waves. Influenced by Islamic art, no people or animals are depicted. The geometric patterns are repeated, and the designs are reminiscent of Islamic architectural ornamentation. ■伝統に培われたアジュラックデザイン
そのルーツを4000年以上遡ると言われている、アジュラック布。パキスタン シンド州からインド カッチ地方にかけて作られてきました。
インダス文明の都市、モヘンジョダロ(紀元前2500年〜紀元前1800年)で出土した司祭王の有名な石像にも、アジュラック布が使われていた痕跡が残っています。石像の、肩からかけられているショールに、アジュラック独自のモチーフが彫られていました。
