*This is a slightly larger drawstring.

It is a drawstring with a typical Indian design called "Jora".

Jhola means "swinging" like a cradle.

It is lightweight and can hold anything from books and pens to fruits and vegetables, so it has long been a favorite design in India.

It is said that Gandhi carried all his belongings in his jhola during the 23-day, 300-kilometer salt march from Ahmedabad to Dandi.

It is a bit large in size, so a large, tall lunch box will fit well in it. It is not limited to a lunch box, but is large enough to hold a wallet, phone, and handkerchief for a short trip to the store, so it is very cute to carry like a bag. Aizome and mud-dyeing go well with the Japanese atmosphere, so it would be great to match it with a yukata.

*Ajurak design cultivated by tradition

Some of the drawstring designs you can choose from are ajurakku designs. Designs include a star-centered pattern that radiates outward, and nature motifs such as plants, trees, and waves. Influenced by Islamic art, no people or animals are depicted. Geometric patterns are repeated, and the designs are reminiscent of Islamic architectural decoration. Ajrak cloth is said to trace its roots back more than 4,000 years. It has been made from the Sindh province of Pakistan to the Kutch region of India.

It was made in Mohenjo-daro, a city of the Indus civilization (2500 B.C. - 1800 B.C.). Ajrakh cloth was also used in the famous stone statues of priest-kings excavated at Mohenjo-daro (2500 B.C. - 1800 B.C.), a city of the Indus civilization. The shawl over the shoulders of the statue was carved with motifs unique to ajrakh.

Please also read the report of our Tirakita buying team's visit to the place where Ajrakh cloth was actually produced.

*Handmade Crystal This elegant and luxurious cloth is dyed with patterns one by one using woodblocks (woodblocks). This is the result of very time-consuming and meticulous handwork, as the woodblock is changed every time the color changes. India is a treasure trove of beautiful fabrics, and this is one of the finest.

The ajrakh dyed part has a unique irregularity that only handmade wood block prints can produce, and it is very atmospheric. Please enjoy the unevenness of the color, the blurring, and the blurriness, all of which are unique to each piece of handwork.
