| *This is a slightly larger drawstring. It is a drawstring with a typical Indian design called "Jora". Jhola means "swinging" like a cradle. It is lightweight and can hold anything from books and pens to fruits and vegetables, so it has long been a favorite design in India. It is said that Gandhi carried all his belongings in his jhola during the 23-day, 300-kilometer salt march from Ahmedabad to Dandi. It is a bit large in size, so a large, tall lunch box will fit well in it. It is not limited to a lunch box, but is large enough to hold a wallet, phone, and handkerchief for a short trip to the store, so it is very cute to carry like a bag. ■伝統に培われたアジュラックデザイン
選択いただける巾着のデザインの中には、アジュラックデザインのものもございます。デザインは、星を中心に放射状に広がっていく模様や、草木や波など自然をモチーフにした物などがあります。イスラム美術の影響を受けており、人や動物などは描かれません。幾何学的なパターンが繰り返され、そのデザインはイスラム建築の装飾を彷彿とさせます。そのルーツを4000年以上遡ると言われている、アジュラック布。パキスタン シンド州からインド カッチ地方にかけて作られてきました。
インダス文明の都市、モヘンジョダロ(紀元前2500年?紀元前1800年)で出土した司祭王の有名な石像にも、アジュラック布が使われていた痕跡が残っています。石像の、肩からかけられているショールに、アジュラック独自のモチーフが彫られていました。
