| This is the second time that we have featured South African wines in this issue since it first appeared in 2019. In the previous issue, we featured up-and-coming producers who are pursuing a unique South African identity and wrote about the new phase of South African wine [now], but this time we focus more on the varietals to deepen our understanding of the wines themselves. 巻頭特集としては、2019年の掲載以来2度目となる南アフリカワイン。前回は南アフリカならではのアイデンティティを追求する新進気鋭の生産者たちを取り上げ、新しいフェーズを迎えた南アフリカワインの「今」を記事にしたが、今回はよりワインそのものの理解を深めるべく、品種にフォーカス。
ヘイテージ品種ともいうべく3品種（シュナン・ブラン、グルナッシュ、サンソー）を中心に、それら品種を語るにふさわしい10名の生産者を現地取材、また適応品種を探る中で再注目されるになった「古木」のプロジェクトとその取り組みも紹介する。
