Description
These postcards are shaped like the food and places that represent each prefecture of Japan. We can deliver your pride in your country, which is easy to understand and familiar to everyone at a glance, along with your heart and words. Maiko... A maiko is a girl who is a minor (about 15 to 20 years old) before becoming a geiko. The period of about one year before becoming a maiko is called [shikomi], during which the seniors live together and train themselves in dancing, manners, and dressing in kimono. After about five years of training as a maiko, including dancing, playing the shamisen, musical accompaniment, and entertaining guests in the tatami room, the maiko undergoes a ceremony called a "collar change" to become a geiko. |
