The spherical inner wall is covered with a band of netting, The banded mesh is wider than any other tea strainer. This "banded mesh tea strainer" is designed to prevent tea leaves from being swayed inside the kyusu in any direction. The function of the tea strainer remains intact no matter which direction the tea leaves are pushed inside the kyusu. *Tokoname: One of the six oldest kilns in Japan, Tokoname is a pottery town steeped in history.
