| With [those days] of today's most popular actresses, A record of the ever-changing city of Tokyo Since his debut in 2010, photographer*video director Yoshiyuki Okuyama has been actively showing his work in numerous photo collections and exhibitions, while also producing an impressive body of client work. His photo book "Kimi no Sumai Machi" (The Town Where You Live), a compilation of his three-year serialization in the magazine Eyescream, attracted a great deal of attention not only for its cast, but also for its innovative approach, such as using only a Polaroid camera to shoot the photographs, which brought out a new aspect of the subjects. Seven years after its publication, the book was out of print, but now it has been reissued by a new publisher in the form of a reprinted edition. The photographs, which were taken in a session-like manner, capture the lively expressions of these women, which cannot be seen anywhere else. This series is a gem of a collaboration that was born from the combination of the charm of the subjects and Okuyama's artistic talent, and it is an important series for Okuyama as it provided an opportunity to deepen his own expression. Another star of this book is the scenery of Tokyo. Okuyama's images of Tokyo are not only valuable as a record of pre-Olympic Tokyo, but are also uniquely captured on Polaroid film, thanks to his unique perspective and graphical composition. In producing the reprint, we kept the original page structure, but revised the printing process from scratch and changed the color of the base of the cover, aiming to create a finish that feels partially updated. This is a book in which you can once again encounter the city of Tokyo and the 35 actresses [back then].
