Description
There lived a boy named Noi in a small village in the forest where a beautiful song could sometimes be heard on the wind. One day, a stranger came to the village and told the villagers to plant a "money-making tree," and the forest fell into disrepair. One day, deep in the forest, Noi sees a woman weaving while singing a song. Dazzled by the beauty of her weaving, he couldn't help but snatch it. This is a story of love and the rebirth of the forest, depicted by Seizo Tashima, based on his extensive fieldwork in Laos. A collaborative picture book with collages of objects by Laotian artist Insishenmai. |
