The latest book in the series that won the Sankei Juvenile Literature Publishing Culture Award*JR Award!
The time is the Heian period, in the capital of Kyoto. Sadamichi, a lord, meets a man named Ensuke who has come to Tokyo. Tousuke receives a small box from a woman at the foot of a bridge and says he is going to deliver it to a destination in Kyoto. The box is not supposed to be opened, but the two happen to look inside. They find a ball of light inside. Meanwhile, Hazuki, a white fox who has come to help Sadamichi through a mysterious connection, is serving the princess, whom she considers like a younger sister. However, when Nakamitsu no Kimi, an older wife who strictly educates the princess, arrives, she begins to develop a rivalry with her in some way. Eventually, Tousuke, who was assigned to work at the princess's mansion, became enchanted by Tama, and perhaps because of Tama's influence, Hazuki also wielded unexpected power. Sadamichi manages to get Tama's small box to the rightful recipient. This is the third installment of a Heian-period fantasy depicting the relationship between ayakashi and people.
