Description
High-quality, easy-to-use all stainless steel kitchen knife series [MOKA]. Seki City in Gifu Prefecture is counted as one of the world's three major cutlery production centers. The kitchen knives made in Seki are reputed to be "unbreakable, unbendable, and sharp". Each knife is carefully finished by hand at our own factory, and each knife is individually edged and finished by our craftsmen. Among them, MOKA series knives are one of the products that carry on the tradition of Seki's knife making since the time of swordsmiths to the present day. The process of bladesmithing, which determines the quality of a kitchen knife, is supported by the handiwork of craftsmen. The product has won the Good Design Award and has been consecutively selected as a "Hida*Minoh Superior Product," which is a proof of the signature products of the local Gifu Prefecture. Because it is something you use every day, we want it to be light, easy to use, and clean. MOKA is a product made with such a desire [we want you to use it for a long time] and is filled with a lot of ingenuity. The MOKA series has a sophisticated form designed by world-renowned industrial designer Motomi Kawakami. *The seamless one-piece construction prevents dirt from accumulating and is clean. *Lightweight with a hollow structure inside the handle. *Streamlined design fits naturally in the hand. *Slits on the surface make it easy to grip firmly without slipping. *The blade is made of 69-layer Damascus, which is more wear-resistant than ordinary stainless steel. The blade is rust-resistant and keeps its sharpness! *Depending on the frequency of use, we recommend resharpening the blade with a whetstone once every 1 to 2 months. [Characteristics of Damascus knives] *Longer than a Damascus, with excellent sharpness. The Damascus steel used in MOKA has a core material of VG10 (V-Gold No. 10), a special stainless steel blade steel with cobalt added. VG10 is a special stainless steel with improved hardness and wear resistance that brings out the best and lasting sharpness. *Damascus steel material Both sides of the core material are made of laminated steel consisting of a total of 69 layers sandwiched between soft hard and DP layers. The ripples that emerge on the surface of the blade in layers are irregular and different from one another, creating a design full of originality. |
