*Place of Origin:Nagano Prefecture

Suwa Teppei andesite is a pyroxene andesite mined in the Suwa and Saku areas of Nagano Prefecture.
It is a pyroxene andesite produced by magmatic activity in the shallow part of the earth 25 million years ago.
It has the property of peeling off in 2〜3 cm slabs (slab joints).
It was used in place of roof tiles during the Edo period.
Because it is stronger than roof tiles, it is very useful in areas with deep snowfall.
Suwa City was named after the place where the Suwa clan of warlords ruled in the Middle Ages,
Suwa City is called the "Switzerland of the East" because of its beautiful nature, including Lake Suwa.
