Worn over a plain coat or jacket, it will add a touch of class to an autumn/winter coordinate that tends to settle on a subdued level. *About Ajrakh print AJRAKH is said to be derived from the Arabic word AZRAK, which is the main color of blue (indigo). It is a woodcut chintz used by Muslims as a loin cloth or turban, and is said to have existed from 2500-1500 BC. The deep indigo and akane, contrasted with black and white, is the traditional color scheme of ajrakh, which represents the color of the sky as the sun sets. The fine symmetry of the Islāmic pattern and the skill with which the woodblock prints this color palette with such intensity and delicacy are the hallmarks of Ajrakh prints. |
