| This leatherwork is handmade in Shantiniketan, a small village located in the east of India. It is said that Tagore, an Indian poet, encountered Japanese leatherwork and introduced it to the village of Shantiniketan, spreading the handicraft as a side job during the off-season. Even today, it remains a valuable village industry. Inside the large pouch are two smaller pouches. Recommended for holding bills and coins. Shantiniketan leather is solid and has a colorful patterned finish that stands out easily in the bag. The more you use it, the more the texture will increase. |
