| This is a round, two-tiered Wappa bento box that can be used for a large amount of food. When you take it with you, you can use it for side dishes and rice. When you take it home, you can store the smaller one in the larger one for compact use. [Menpa" is a dialect word for a bento box used by people engaged in forestry work. They used to put a side dish in the lid and put rice in the bottom to eat a lot of food for their body not to be defeated by hard work. They used to eat a lot of rice with side dishes on the lid to keep their bodies fit for hard work. The paint is the same safe urethane paint used for school lunch bowls in Odawara. You can enjoy the difference in texture due to the different grain of each piece of wood finished as it is. |
