This kyusu is handmade by the second generation Tamamitsu Umehara.
Tamamitsu Kiln is home to Tamamitsu 2nd generation and Tamamitsu 3rd generation (Yukitaka),   Tamamitsu is also a traditional craftsman.
They are also traditional craftsmen.  

All kyusu are made with a ceramic tea strainer called ceramesh,  .

The clay is wheel-thrown using vermilion mud clay and sintered clay.

[Tokoname ware] 

Tokoname ware is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, and its origin dates back to the end of the Heian period.  [Tokonameyaki]   The characteristic of Tokonameyaki is that it is made in the Chita Peninsula.
Tokoname ware is characterized by the use of iron-rich clay from the Chita Peninsula.  
The reddish coloring of the iron is called "Shudo,"   and is the color that characterizes Tokoname ware.
The resulting pottery has the color that characterizes Tokoname ware.

It is also recommended for inbound visitors.
