Description
| This work depicts kabuki actor Otani Onitsugu III playing the role of Edobei, with his head protruding and glaring, and his powerful hands outstretched from his bosom to his chest, leaving a strong impression. This is one of Toshusai Sharaku's most famous works. Sharaku is said to be a mysterious painter who disappeared after only 10 months of activity. The furoshiki is pearlized to give the appearance of mica print. The shimmering effect when the furoshiki is wrapped gives it an accent. |
