After 20 or 30 years, the fabric becomes softer and the colorful motifs fade away in just the right way to create a unique texture. Manggarai old fabric also has many holes and threads missing. Because cutting and sewing must be done avoiding these damaged parts, seamstresses who can tailor Manggarai fabrics are very rare in Indonesia. This is our original Manggarai series, which was created based on the detailed discussions with seamstresses who know Manggarai very well. The fabric is carefully cut according to the pattern, and after sewing, the threads of frayed motifs are carefully cut one by one, and if any holes are found after sewing, they are repaired. If holes are found after sewing, they are repaired... This is a truly tedious and time-consuming process. Mangalai fabrics are old fabrics, so there may be some damage even after this process. We recommend that you purchase this item if you can accept it as a characteristic of old fabric. Please note that although the fabric has been cleaned, it has been dyed using the Flores Island's unique herb-dyeing process, so some of the products may retain some of the unique fragrance.
