Turtle and Newt were neighbors who lived near a river. Turtle, a sleepy, fussy eater, and laid-back person, and Newt, an active painter, were very good friends, but Newt had moved to a distant "toad pond" washed away by heavy rain. The previous volume [Kozureboko] tells the story of their summer reunion. In this volume, we see the friends of Sawa in the winter, and then in the spring, we see the reunion of Imori-kun and Turtle-kun, who come to visit Sawa again with an elder toad who used to live in Sawa. The book contains 12 episodes, including the joy of seeing their friends again, and their everyday lives, which they cherish. Many illustrations add color.
