Description
This size is easy to use as a main dish or serving plate for entertaining. Indigo dyeing has been used in many parts of the world since ancient times, and is said to have been brought to Japan from China during the Asuka Period. Until the Heian period (794-1185), it was a noble color worn mainly by the court and upper class aristocrats, but by the Edo period (1603-1868), it had spread to the common people. It is now called "JAPAN BLUE" and has become a color that symbolizes Japanese tradition. |
