「製作に励む女性たち」
インドの商業都市ムンバイの巨大なスラム街で長年活動しているフェアトレードNGO「クリエイティブ・ハンディクラフト」。
その中で女性たちが社会的にも経済的にも力をつけていけるよう、つくった製品を国内外で販売しながら総合的な支援をしています。
スラムの中には11の作業所が点在し、女性たちは20人ずつの小グループに分かれて縫製作業を行っています。
グループリーダーの一人、ビューラさんの「お金やものなどの援助はいらない。欲しいのは私たちが縫製をして自立するための注文です」という言葉が強く印象に残ります。
