インドのラジャスタン州、サンガネールという街には、木版プリントや、スクリーンプリントの工場が並びます。
スクリーンプリントは、二人一組でのリズミカルな力作業。
大きく大きく広げた生地のうえに、しゅっしゅっと模様が足されていきます。
この仕事は、空とのにらめっこだそうです。
湿気があると、色ムラ、滲みの原因になるので、雨が数日降らない日を待って作業をおこないます。
出来上がった生地は、インドのパワフル太陽のもとで、からりと乾かして。
自然と人間の力が手をつないで、たくさんの素敵な模様が生まれるのです。

スクリーンプリント生地の作成にあたりましては、天候や手刷りの特性上、わずかな変化によって生地の表情が変わってくることがございます。
